I came across this today. It was posted by a friend of mine, Angela Digman, and I wanted to share it with all of you. It is originally from “Cowboy’s -4- Christ” on facebook. It is meaningful and I enjoy it. Thank you, Angela, for making it available.
A old cowboy went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: “I don’t believe that God exists.”…
“Why do you say that?” asked the cowboy.
“Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn’t exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can’t imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.”
The cowboy thought for a moment, but didn’t respond because he didn’t want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the cowboy left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.
The cowboy turned back and entered the barber shop again and
he said to the barber: “You know what? Barbers do not exist.”
“How can you say that?” asked the surprised barber. “I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!
“No!” the cowboy exclaimed. “Barbers don’t exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.”
“Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens, is people do not come to me.”
“Exactly!”- affirmed the cowboy. “That’s the point! ….
God, too, DOES exist! What happens, is, people don’t go to Him and do not look for Him. That’s why there’s so much pain and suffering in the world.”
* God bless and keep sharing the Good News !!!!

No, I was not aware of it. You may think this odd, or perhaps funny, but I have no idea of what to look for. Everything here appears fine…… Can I get some help? (smiling).
I may as well place some humor to this by saying; “this is so typical of God…. sends us on a mission without a clue as to where we are going or what to look for…. then He brings us someone who knows the territory, the problem [and then] we are able to do God’s will….. and finish His project. smiling.
Thank you for pointing this out and for your visit. And thank you for your comments. All are greatly appreciated.
May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless and keep you and yours.
Yours in Christ;
Michael

God exists and he is real. Too bad that some people are caught up with wrong views that they miss the heavenly glory.

I wish sincerely to thank you for the re-blog and helping to get the message of God, and His existence, out to others. Both are greatly appreciated.
It is sad that many have turned to a hardened heart again God and His Devine presence in our lives. All God wants for us is His very best and to give us opportunity to share His Kingdom.
Some, in this world, don’t have family and yet they refuse to join in the greatest family of all and receive their inheritance God has promised. They refuse to be adopted into His Kingdom and share in the love and joy Christ offers.
Once again, may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless and keep you and yours…. May His peace reach out through you and touch those who want and need Him. Shalom!
Yours in Christ always;
Michael

I am pleased, too, that you also found humor in it and a great message. Sometime a little humor carries the message further and lifts the spirit. Something we can all use from time to time.

Hello, Louis and thank you for visiting and for leaving your comment. Both are greatly appreciated.
I too like the punch line. I believe it is right on and the message, over all, one of which is needed. It is good, also, that it can have a sense of humor attached to it. As we both know, humor is a great medicine and lifts the spirit.
Thanks again, Louis.
